Hi Callide, been a while since we last spoke, how have things been going?

Really good. Having been locked off for the last eight months, it’s good to see my plan starting to take shape. For me, the last eight or so months has been about carefully planning how I want to move forward as a DnB artist, and developing a harder dancefloor sound which will create the crowd reaction I'm looking for. Chrissy Chris recently described how a collaboration of mine (Set Style – Sonic Art) turned a festival in to a frenzied riot.... he explained "the barriers came down, it was like a mosh pit, so I stopped the track, and I played it again...and the same thing happened" that’s pretty much what I'm looking for.

How has the reception of Supreme been since promos were release last week?

It’s really cool, a lot of people have been after that tune for a long time so I’m glad people can now get their hands on it.

I hear you have some more big releases coming soon?

Right now I’m focusing all my attention on getting more tracks to Ram, as well as getting some momentum back behind System Shock again. I’d really like to do some more work with Sonic Art and Mix n Blen, as well as remixing my track ‘Ecstasy Rising’, that track received a really good reception, and I recon I can take to another level. I’ll also be looking at another collab with Tyke, and some work with another Gloucester artist known as Voltage.

What are the future plans for System Shock?

I’m just finalising the next release which will be number 13 in the System Shock schedule. The A-side is a huge dancefloor track called ‘Shutting Down VIP’, (not to be mistaken by my track shutting down which got leaked a while back) the flip side I’m still deciding but I hope to get this release out in the next couple of months. Shutting Down VIP is energetic, angry and in your face, and every time I play it, it gets the desired reaction. I’ll also be looking to do another System Shock tour soon, possibly in the U.S.A and Canada.

Have you been looking for other artists for potential releases on System Shock?

Not right this second. System Shock started back in 2006 and over the years I’ve had a few tracks from other artists such as Soulpride, Tomi Kain, Prestige, Oder and Spoaw . I’d like to get some of them back for more tracks in the future, but first I want to get the label to a certain point on my own…its how I started, so I’m thinking the next few releases will be my tracks, and then look for who can bring to the table that big dancefloor sound the label is known for.

Any producers you can recommend us to look out for?

Yeah there’s some the guys I’ve been supporting for a long time who I think bring some really different, they have really unique styles and show great creativity in the production. D-Kill, Hectix, Livewire, Decimal Bass, CSS, Voltage and Bigga Spittaz.

In what direction do you see the drum and bass scene moving towards?

It can only get bigger and better, as its finds itself becoming more and more established in the music industry as a whole. As a producer, I’ve seen massive changes to the way my music gets to the dj/listener. Tracks being leaked and illegal downloads are the 2 biggest killers for any producer, however it is a double edged sword. My music is now more accessible than ever before which can create more dj bookings, however once a track leaks it can have a massive impact on the sales. I get sent a lot of dubs but if there’s some thing I haven’t got, I’ll buy it from a legitimate site to show my support to the artist. Let’s hope the majority of people do too. Big up the Gloucester crew, Need All Records and everyone who supports what I’m doing.
